Brief.

Ensure fans felt the magic and inspiration of the Lionesses playing in the Women’s EURO back at home.

Approach.

We worked with The FA across a number of projects to meet the brief:

That Lionesses Podcast Connected by EE: In the build up to and throughout the tournament, we supported with media engagement for the official England podcast, presented by Harriet Rose.

Big Football Day in collaboration with The National Lottery: Once the tournament was in full swing we delivered nationwide Big Football Day community events, delivering widespread media outputs across traditional media and social platforms.

SOOO London watch parties: Once England had secured passage to the semi-finals and final, we hosted watch parties at first-of-its-kind Style Of Our Own store on Regent Street where the football community collided with mainstream fandom. We gathered lifestyle content creators and women’s football fans to watch both matches – music, face painting and vibes, fans did not stop dancing as they watched the Lionesses become back-to-back European champions.

Made For This Game media day: Ahead of the nail-biting final, we enlisted the help of Tottenham’s Ella Morris and England legend Rachel Yankey to deliver a series of media interviews and inspire the next generation of female players at AFC Leyton.

Impact.

A nation of new and existing fans supporting the Lionesses and a team entering mainstream consciousness. Results included the podcast reaching an audience of 192M, with 100+ pieces of coverage generated, an increase in awareness of the Made For This Game campaign and more women and girls inspired to play the game.
