This month we joined FA Women’s National League side Wolverhampton Wanderers at a training session ahead of their clash against Adobe Women’s FA Cup title holders, Manchester United.
To mark their monumental achievement, we attended training and invited key media including The Sun, Girls On the Ball and Forbes to document the history and the buzz around the club.
The players and staff were also surprised by the Adobe Women’s FA Cup trophy making an appearance!
Player, Wolves fan and secondary school teacher Beth Merrick spoke on the occasion and what it means for the club, saying “reaching this stage in the competition is amazing in itself and to be able to share this special moment with the club at a sold-out ground with so many friends, family and fantastic fans means a lot.”
For Merrick as a PE teacher, it’s been about enjoying playing as much as it’s been about inspiring the next generation, and her students were certainly excited for her with many commenting “I can’t believe you’ll be playing against Ella Toone!”.
